LA PERLA
In the heart of the Jordaan is a busy street popularly known as "Little Italy. This is because of the large number of Italian restaurants. Only one of these makes pizza, namely: La Perla (the pearl). Every week, La Perla imports the best ingredients from Italy. For example, the genuine Campanian buffalo mozzerella D.O.P. is imported from southern Italy three times a week to guarantee its freshness. Thus, La Perla's policy is to work with regional and non-industrial products as much as possible. In the middle of the business is the wood-fired large stone oven that is essential for making good pizzas. In addition to pizzas, La Perla also prepares pastas and sandwiches and they have a changing wine list. You can take the pizzas yourself or order from the menu across the street and enjoy them there in the indoor or outdoor seating area. The pizzas are best if you eat them à la minute - that is, just out of the oven. This is why La Perla does not take phone orders.
