Housing market Q3: Rivierenbuurt continues to surprise
The square metre prices in the Rivierenbuurt have risen to an average of almost € 7,000/m2! More and more people understand how nice it is to live here: atmospheric, green and always cosy because of the squares and lovely terraces. A nice neighbourhood and therefore very popular and in constant development. Especially the Scheldestraat and the Maasstraat are popular shopping streets where many people like to stay, but also the Rijnstraat is gaining popularity.
Highest number of transactions in a quarter!
In the third quarter of 2020, 115 homes were sold, the highest number for years! A year ago, there were only 85, so that is a spectacular increase of no less than 35%!
Families settle in the Rivierenbuurt
As a neighbourhood specialist, I see that the Rivierenbuurt is a preferred neighbourhood for (small) families, and this is reflected in higher prices for larger houses in this neighbourhood. The Rivierenbuurt is characterised by an average larger house than in most neighbourhoods in Amsterdam. Houses with large gardens are ideal for families!
