Rivierenbuurt very popular

The Rivierenbuurt; atmospheric, green and always cosy with its squares and lovely terraces! A fine neighbourhood and therefore very popular and in constant development. Especially Scheldestraat and Maasstraat are popular streets where many people like to stay, but also Rijnstraat is gaining popularity. The fact that the Rivierenbuurt is very popular is also demonstrated by the rising number of homes sold in the fourth quarter of 2019.

Rivierenbuurt continues to grow

In the last quarter of 2019, 96 homes were sold in the Rivierenbuurt (17 more than in Q3) and at a very fast pace. Indeed, the average selling time for a home in this neighbourhood is just 29 days. The growing demand for houses in this neighbourhood has therefore driven the average transaction price to a record high of over €635,000.

Families settle in the Rivierenbuurt

As a neighbourhood specialist, I see that the Rivierenbuurt is a preferred neighbourhood for (small) families, and this is reflected in higher prices for larger homes in this neighbourhood. Our reports show, for example, that relatively high prices are being paid for homes between 80 and 100 square metres, namely €6,900 per square metre. This is an increase of approximately 9% compared to last year.

Scheldebuurt most expensive sub-neighbourhood

One of the neighbourhoods where we are very regularly active is the Scheldebuurt. Compared to the other sub-neighbourhoods of the Rivierenbuurt, we see that the most houses were sold here last year, and with the highest square metre prices of the neighbourhood. The average transaction price here was over €725,000. We can therefore label the Scheldebuurt as the most popular neighbourhood.
If you would like to live in the Rivierenbuurt, the IJsselbuurt is the most advantageous. There you will pay relatively less per square metre than in the Schelde and the Rijnbuurt.
